At Lower Gwynedd Functional Medicine, Dr. Carchedi is dedicated to understanding each patient as a whole person. Functional and integrative medicine is comprehensive and complex, requiring both time and commitment – from Dr. Carchedi and from each patient.
His practice combines the highest standards of conventional medicine with integrative approaches to identify the root causes of health concerns and design personalized, evidence-based treatment plans.
Dr. Carchedi continually invests in his expertise through:
- Board certifications and continuing medical education in conventional and functional medicine
- Attendance at multiple national conferences each year to stay current on the latest medical breakthroughs and research
- Collaboration with leading peers in integrative healthcare
- Hands-on clinical experience to ensure familiarity and safety with the therapies he recommends
All care provided by Dr. Carchedi is grounded in scientific evidence, clinical experience, and professional expertise. Every treatment plan is tailored to the individual patient, ensuring safe, effective, and measurable results.
Many patients arrive after years of unanswered questions and short visits that never addressed the full picture. Here, patients receive personalized, evidence-based care designed specifically for their body and their situation.
What to Expect on Your First Visit
Your initial Functional Medicine consultation is a 90-minute deep dive into your health history, symptoms, lifestyle, diet, past labs, and concerns. This is not a rushed appointment – it’s dedicated time to truly understand what has been missed and create a strategy tailored to you.
During this visit, you will receive:
– Comprehensive review of your full health history and symptoms
– Discussion of previous labs and medical records
– Identification of root-cause patterns
– Personalized treatment and testing plan
– Clear next steps and follow-up roadmap
You will leave with clarity, direction, and actionable steps for your health journey.
Follow-Up Visits
Follow-up visits are designed to support you as your care plan unfolds. These appointments allow us to review your progress, assess response to treatment, adjust recommendations, and ensure you are moving forward effectively.
Follow-up visit length varies based on your individual needs and the complexity of your case. Our team will help determine the appropriate visit duration and review scheduling details with you.
Free 15-Minute Inquiry Call
Not sure if this is the right fit? We offer a free 15-minute inquiry call to answer your questions and explain how our approach works.
This call is intended to determine if our practice is a good fit for your needs. No medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment will be provided during this call.
Between-Visit Support
Your investment includes direct email access to Dr. Carchedi between appointments for general questions about your care plan, clarifications, or follow-up instructions.
This is not for urgent medical issues, diagnosis, or treatment advice.
Specialized Testing & Laboratory Services
To get to the root cause of your health concerns, we use targeted testing through trusted third-party labs. These tests help uncover hidden imbalances, sensitivities, or deficiencies that standard labs may miss, so we can create a truly personalized plan.
Examples of tests we use:
- Microbiome Stool Analysis – understand gut health and digestive balance
- Hormonal Evaluations – assess imbalances affecting energy, mood, and metabolism
- Food Sensitivity Testing – identify triggers affecting digestion, inflammation, or autoimmune conditions
- Lyme Disease Testing – detect underlying infections impacting multiple systems
- Environmental Toxin Assessments – identify chemical exposures affecting long-term wellness
- Micronutrient Testing – detect deficiencies affecting energy, immune function, and recovery
Most specialty testing companies do not accept insurance, so patients should be aware of potential additional costs. When used strategically, these tests provide insights that dramatically improve the effectiveness of your personalized treatment plan.
Who This Practice is For
This practice is ideal for patients who:
- Are ready to invest in getting real answers
- Want a root-cause approach to their health
- Are looking for personalized care, not quick visits
- Understand that healing requires time, investigation, and partnership
This practice may not be the right fit for those seeking urgent care, annual physicals, or insurance-based primary care. We encourage all patients to maintain a primary care physician for those services.
Payment & Insurance
We are a fee-for-service specialty practice and do not participate with insurance plans. Payment is due at the time of your visit. We accept:
- Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard)
- Cash
- Checks
- HSA/FSA cards
Because available funds on HSA/FSA cards may vary, we recommend bringing a backup form of payment to ensure a smooth check-in.
While our office does not submit insurance paperwork on your behalf, we will happily provide patients with an itemized receipt for those who wish to submit to their insurance directly.
Scheduling & Cancellation Policy
At Lower Gwynedd Functional Medicine Institute, Dr. Carchedi dedicates 90 minutes to each initial consultation to ensure a comprehensive review of your health history, symptoms, lifestyle, and laboratory findings.
Because these appointments are highly personalized and time-intensive, the time reserved for your visit is held exclusively for you. When an appointment is canceled without adequate notice, it cannot be offered to another patient who may be waiting for care.
We kindly request at least two business days’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
Cancellation fees apply only when an appointment is canceled or rescheduled with less than two business days’ notice. Specific fee amounts are outlined in our appointment confirmations and intake paperwork.
